RCX 2026: RioBotz's Touro Feather wins Featherweight in Brazil and earns an NHRL Pro Tour place

A Brazilian robot combat title has turned into a ticket to the United States. RoboCore Experience 2026 (RCX) took place from 9 to 12 October 2026 at the Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia in São Caetano do Sul, in São Paulo state, organised by RoboCore with the institute. Combat was one of several contests alongside sumo, hockey, soccer and line-following robots. RoboCore's public entry list counts 279 combat robots in eight classes, from 150-gram Fairyweights to 27.2 kg Lightweights.

The headline result for international fans came in Featherweight (up to 13.6 kg), a class with 16 entries. According to PUC-Rio, whose RioBotz team built the robot, Touro Feather went through the bracket without a defeat and beat Dark Khaos in the final on a 19 to 14 judges' decision. PUC-Rio adds that the two robots had been team-mates in Time Brasil, which it says won the Robot Rampage World Cup in New Zealand earlier in 2026. The NHRL wiki lists Touro Feather as a vertical drum spinner in the league's 30 lb class, with a second place at the 2022 Grand Finals.

RioBotz came close to a second title. In Hobbyweight (up to 5.44 kg, 15 entries), Touro Jr. reached the final but lost to Freki Hobby, entered by the AGVS Combat team, and took silver, PUC-Rio reports. The results of the other combat classes were not available in a readable form in the sources we opened.

The Featherweight win has a direct consequence: PUC-Rio says it gives Touro Feather a place at the NHRL World Championship Pro Tour on 7 November 2026 in Norwalk, Connecticut, an event the NHRL lists at its House of Havoc venue. The Mauá institute had announced that RCX combat winners would receive two Featherweight places and one Hobbyweight place at that event.
