About

The G1 is Unitree's compact humanoid, shown in May 2024 at the ICRA robotics conference and sold from CNY 99,000 at launch. Unitree's spec sheet gives 1.32 m and about 35 kg with the battery, so it is roughly half the weight of a T800. The base model has 23 joints; the EDU version goes up to 43 with optional three-finger hands and stronger knees. It folds down to 69 cm for transport and runs about two hours on a quick-release battery.

In the ring

The G1 fought in the first CMG Mecha Fighting competition in Hangzhou in May 2025: four G1s driven remotely by human operators, three two-minute rounds, with kicks scoring more than punches. Reports noted that the robots usually got up within five seconds after a fall, but also missed punches, got caught in the ropes and locked together in clinches. At UFB in San Francisco G1s are piloted against Booster T1s, and at ARC the G1 is the lightweight, mirroring a pilot in a motion-capture suit.
